Hear why various members of the Tech Industry want to be part of The GREAT Tech Awards: The GREAT Tech Awards will celebrate the strong relationship between the technology scenes in the United Kingdom and United States reinforcing the message that cities such as London and New York are leading hubs for technology and innovation. The GREAT Tech Awards emphasizes the support structures for start-ups/tech companies in the UK and US, which provide a platform for entrepreneurs to work more closely together. The Great Tech Awards highlight exciting tech developments in the New York market and the UK, particularly London’s Tech City. Five New York-based technology companies in categories listed below will win a GREAT opportunity to explore expansion to the UK during an exclusive business development visit to London from 14-19 October 2013: 1. Hardware 2. Education 3. Lifestyle 4. Finance 5. Media The Advisors’ Choice Award will recognize a successful British tech company that has established a dynamic presence in the New York market. The GREAT Tech Awards: Categories & Eligibility
The GREAT Tech Awards will celebrate a winner from each of the following categories:
1. | Hardware |
e.g. 3D printing, maker’s movement, electronics sectors | |
2. | Education |
e.g. coding, e-learning platforms, technology changing the science, technology changing the science, technology, engineering and mathematics sectors | |
3. | Lifestyle |
e.g. retail, e-commerce, fashion, health/wellness sectors | |
4. | Finance |
e.g. mobile payments, crowd sourcing, technology for the financial services sectors |

5. | Media |
e.g. ad-tech, enterprise, music sectors |
Eligibility for US companies: | |
• | Must be a US headquartered company with a New York business presence |
• | No current UK presence |
• | Must have a verifiable international client base and be ready to grow internationally |
• | Must have a primary focus on products or services within the field of technology |
• | Must have an employee headcount of 3-100 |
• | Be relevant to one of the five award categories mentioned above |

Eligibility for UK companies: | |
• | Companies headquartered, organized and in good standing in England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland |
• | Must have an office in New York |
• | Must have a primary focus on products or services within the field of technology |
